in my teen years, right before i converted to exclusively wearing soft grunge tumblr style chokers to school every day, i was always seen wearing one of my favorite long necklaces that i had probably bought from forever 21, h&m, or amazon. the most iconic of these necklaces of course was the owl necklace, which everyone wore around 2012. mine was from wet seal and it looked just like the one in the picture above. i don't have my original owl necklace or any of the others from middle/high school anymore, but over the past couple years i have been rebuilding a collection of secondhand long necklaces, and finally bought a new owl necklace! this time, in all gold.

while browsing mercari i've also come across a peacock necklace that is identical to the one i used to wear back then, and i'm thinking it might be my next necklace purchase so i can finally be reuinited with it.
